Should I suggest a day for that 2nd date...or just leave it for now?

Maybe he's waiting until has more money to take you out....hard to say really. There is nothing wrong with texting him to say Hi and that you're thinking of him. As shy as he is, I don't know if he would like you to initiate the next day, or if he would prefer to do that on his own.
