Is there a high risk of infection for getting a wrist microdermal? Is it painful?

My 18th birthday is coming up and I thought this piercing was really cute, especially if the studs have diamonds on them. I would get 2 of them on one wrist going in a line straight down, slightly spaced. Is it possible to get the studs with diamonds on them when they are first pierced too?
