Advice on how to remove the RING from a Nostril BCR?

I had my nose pierced about 4 weeks ago with a 1.2mm BCR. I have tried for the past two and a bit hours to take this ring out and replace it with a stud (as i have prom in two days) and it just wont budge! I got the ball out fine and there was no hassle with that but i cannot remove the ring as the gap where the ball was seems too small to pull out from inside my nose... I have tried needle nose pliers but it just won't work! I have read on here to go to a piercer but i'm sure they'd refuse to change it as the healing time is 3 months and i've only had it done a month.
